Hump Day Giveaway – Bitchin’ Beads

Are you all ready for this one?  This has got to be one of my favorite giveaways yet!  Bitchin’ Beads is giving away a one-of-a-kind handmade lampwork glass bead necklace valued at $75.00!  This necklace has a sophisticated, yet artistic heart bead with raised glass swirl, a Swarovski crystal charm and sterling silver chain.  All glass art jewelry is handmade in a studio and lucky for us, Bitchin’ Beads just opened a studio here in North Scottsdale where they offer free mother-daughter tours.  Kids can learn about lampwork glass art, see what the flame looks like through spacial goggles, watch glass being shaped and put into the kiln.  Visit their website at http://bitchinbeads.ca/ to learn more or sign up for a tour.  To view some more products, you can either visit their website or click here to head to their etsy shop.

In order to be entered in today’s giveaway, you must do two things.

Grady’s 1st Birthday Party

Well, after some serious denial, I am ready to admit that my baby boy is officially one.  His birthday was nearly a week ago, but I just wasn’t ready to come to terms with the fact that he’s a toddler.  It feels like just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant, sniff sniff!  After an amazing day with our little family on Friday, we kicked it into high gear and celebrated his pirate party (arrrrrg…) with our closest family and friends on Saturday.  I have to show off my favorite part of the party, the dessert table.  A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Cuteology Cakes for creating the most amazing dessert bar imaginable.  Not only did it look adorable, every single thing was delicious.  And yes, I personally tasted each and every item.  Thanks for the addition to my love handles, Cutology Cakes (click here to view their website and tell them Ties & Tutus sent ya)!  =)

Monday Morning Challenge! Eat up!

If you are anything like me, your weekly grocery store trips are pretty standard, and therefore so are your meals.  We are pretty predictable around my house, Tuesdays are always taco night, Thursdays are always an easy Stouffers meal I can just throw in the oven, wanting something easy in anticipation of the weekend.  Well this week Ties & Tutus challenges you to try something completely new!  Blow the dust off those recipe books, check your Pinterest boards for all those yummy recipes you always dream of making and get out and do it!  Now, there always is a chance that things in the kitchen could go terribly awry so I might suggest picking up an extra frozen pizza at the store when you are buying your ingredients, just in cases.  (Not a grammatical error, anyone know the movie reference?)  So good luck and eat up – you’ve been challenged!    If you need some good places to start here are some awesome sites that will get your inner Julia Childs working:

And of course, my personal fave, Pinterest!

Chicken Enchiladas

I am so excited to share this recipe with you because it was sent to us from one of our very loyal fans.  It’s kid tested and mother approved — and no, we’re not talking about Kix here, we’re talking chicken enchiladas.
