Children ages 5 and older can attend free trial classes, get fitted for shoes and dance wear and receive information on Nutcracker auditions from 10:00am – 1:30pm this Saturday, August 4th.

Music Together in Phoenix

We are happy to announce a new-comer to our “Businesses We Love” Music Together in Phoenix!  Nora and I have been attending “music class” as we like to call it, since our little ones were only four months old, and we are now entering our third semester!  I can truly say from first-hand experience that this is an amazing program for you and your child.  It’s amazing to me that my nine-month-old can actually recognize and acknowledge the music from class!  She moves, grooves and giggles whenever we’re in class or even when we put the CD on at home.  If you are looking for a wonderful experience for you and your children, infants through preschoolers, you’ve got to check out Music Together in Phoenix!!  Spring semester registration has begun, click here to check it out – and make sure to tell them Ties & Tutus sent you!

10 weeks of MUSIC FUN!

Music Together®, a research based national program for early childhood music and movement development, is committed to helping families rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal music experiences.  Classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical.  All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and participate in the music of their culture, given their early environment supports such learning.  By emphasizing actual musical experiences rather than concepts about music, Music Together introduces children to the pleasures of making music instead of passively consuming it from CD’s or TV.

 

Each class is:

  • A community of families sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants and movement activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting.
  • Music learned through developmentally appropriate activities that support and respect the unique learning styles of very young children.

Origami Owl, Custom Jewelry

Have you heard about this latest craze?  If not, let me be the one to introduce you to Origami Owl, Custom Jewelry.  Yes.  CUSTOM.  I’ve recently become part of this amazing company that allows you, the customer, to design personal lockets that tell your story.  I fell in love with the idea immediately, I’m a self-confessed accessory junkie.  Here is an image that describes how simple the process really is:

I’m currently waiting on shipment of my first locket and I can’t.wait.for.it.to.get.here.  I’m stalking the UPS man like nobody’s business.  I created a family piece out of a gold locket, long gold chain, our initials and our birthstones.  Oh, and let’s not forget the rhinestone dog bone, that represents our puppy.  He’s definitely part of our family.  It’s something simple that I can wear everyday.  At first I was stressed wondering if I should wait until our family was complete because I didn’t want to have to order another necklace a year or two down the road.  Well, apparently the design team was one step ahead of me because these little suckers open up so you can exchange or add charms.  Holler!

Green Apple Hair Lounge

Green Apple Hair Lounge is the Valley’s newest and most cutting-edge salon in North Phoenix and I am so, so happy I found it!  Just when I thought I’d found a stylist I loved, she moved.  Murphy’s Law, I guess, right?  Well, sometimes things are meant to be because Green Apple Hair Lounge is my kind of salon and I absolutely fell in love with its style, mission and the Tigi product line.  When you walk in, you immediately notice the contemporary design and the boutique-style salon feel, with modern touches we can all appreciate.  They offer an array of drinks, including water, Coke, my guilty pleasure, Diet Coke, or Starbucks Frappuccinos.  And, as if that’s not enough to keep me coming back, each station is equipped with a Kindle Fire so the client can browse the web, read books or play games all while getting pampered.  The entire salon is also Wi-Fi enabled so bring your laptop or iPad!   Brittney Larson, the owner, is a graduate of the world-renown Toni&Guy Apprentice Program, so not only does she come with a wealth of knowledge, she also has years of expereince in some of the best salons in Phoenix and Hawaii.  If you are looking for a new salon, and even if you’re not, try them out.  You and your hair will thank me!
